The Old White Swan

The Old White Swan is in Goodramgate just a short stroll from York Minster, Parliament Square and Deangate.

It is a traditional pub with a unique character. It serves eight real ales most of the time, some permanent, some guests.

It also serves food in both a pub style and a restaurant style. Prices differ according to where you eat.

The Old White Swan is a collection of buildings dating from the 16th Century. It is said to be haunted. Buildings at the rear of the courtyard date to medieval times and in 1781 the world's tallest man, Mr O'Brian, was exhibited at the pub. He stood 8 feet tall and people were charged a shilling to come and look at him.

The Old White Swan is part of the Nicholson's pub group.
