Brigantes

Part of the 'Market Town Taverns' group, this pub is located close to York's famous Micklegate Bar, in a listed Georgian building which was the birthplace of Joseph Aloysius Hansom (1803 - 1882) - architect, inventor, landscaper. He designed Birmingham Town Hall and invented the Hansom Cab in 1834.

The spacious ground floor bar area leads to a more intimate carpeted lounge area whilst, upstairs is a period Georgian function/dining room capable of seating around 36 people. This is available for dining or for private hire.

York railway station is some 5 minutes walk away and the historic city centre itself only a short walk away from Brigantes.

Food is served both lunchtimes and evenings.

They serve up to 8 real ales plus draught Belgian and German beer.
