The Albion Hotel

Very nicely kept Hall & Woodhouse (Badger) Ales. Choice of Glass offered. Beer clear and rather nice.

A Proper pub with a long bar. The pub is a bit narrow, but teh tables at the end are comfortable. There's a real fireplace, but I think it's a gas fire. You have to look closely though.

Nice decor, looks to have been renewed recently. Very friendly regulars, but you have to approach them first. The bar staff are also first class, friendly and efficient.

TV in corner with sound turned down showing a news channel. Unobtrusive background music. There was plenty of conversation so the background music was low enough to allow this.

For the summer there is a beer garden. The car park can also be found here at the rear of the pub through an arch.

Generally friendly and welcoming.

There is food here, served lunchtimes until 2.30. I only had the soup. Very nice. Obviously home made served with two big chunks of bread and enough butter for me. I saw some rather appetising fish and chips being served. Fair prices. About 7 pounds for a proper main course. (The soup was 3 quid).

The toilets close to bar, are easy to find and clean enough.

The best about the Albion is the friendliness. The worst is that it's a bit long and thin - like a railway carriage. Worth a Diversion though.
