Overlooking the historic market place , this is an Arkell's pub, serving up to three of their ales.

The pub has been there as a coaching inn since the 16th century.

You can access the pub from the front or the rear; there is no car park, so make sure if you are driving that you get there early to find a spot on the road. Accessing the pub from the rear means walking over a lot of cobbles, which are uneven.

From the front the bar is on the left and is modern with comfy chairs and sofas; the minimalist bar serves three Arkell's ales plus a selection of wine and spirits.

Reception is on the right and it close to the large eating area, all with modern décor. You can eat anywhere in the pub, including the large atrium between the two halves of the pub.

Rooms are to the rear and upstairs, as is the breakfast room.

They can cater for weddings, christenings, birthdays, etc.
