The Jolly Tanners

The Jolly Tanners is a popular public house in the small village of Staplefield in West Sussex.

The pub provides good food and drink. The pub gets busy with diners at certain times and so it is best ring and book a table, though not on Sundays as that's on a first come, first served basis. There is also a dining room which is non-smoking, though you can eat in the bar if you wish. Food (12-2, 7-9.30) is traditional, wholesome and filling.

As for the beers, the Tanners keep their ales well and on at the time were: Fuller's London Pride, Fuller's Chiswick and Harvey's Best Bitter.

They have a large garden with seating for the summer and a climbing frame is available for children. By the way, children are welcome but only in the public or 'lower' bar and garden.

There is no accommodation here.
