Wight Bear Ale House

This micropub was opened in 2015 and has helped rejuvenate Southbourne high street.

It serves up to eight guest ales, dispensed straight from the cask. They also serve cider and perry. Some bottles/cans are also available.

There is no food here, you can bring your own, but they do have bar snacks.

On entering you realise there is no bar, but find a seat and the staff will come and serve you, though you might want to linger near the large chalk board with the list of beers on near the till.

Seating is at high benches and tables that surround the open plan room. The ceiling has lots of items hanging from it, including te plastic containers you can use to take the beer home.

There is no music, so you can talk and usually end up in conversation with people sat near you. You can also play board games if you wish.

No mobiles allowed.

Pokesdown station is a little over a mile away.
