The Wilkes' Head

Named after 18th-century radical John Wilkes, this small Grade II-listed red-brick pub dates from 1803.

There is a cosy lounge to the left of the central bar and a larger main bar with inglenook fireplace, flagstones and low beams, plus a separate restaurant.

At the rear is a permanent marquee with seating plus a comfortable, heated smokers' shelter and a large garden with play equipment.

A real fire for winter.

Five guest ales are served, plus a real cider.

Food is served here Monday to Friday 6.30 - 8.30 and 12 - 2.30, 12 - 3 Saturday and Sunday.

Regular beer festivals are held.

Children and dogs welcome.

Parking here plus traditional pub games and sports TV.
