I was under the impression that there were few real vegetarian beers - Marble Brewery being one.
Yet today I had a bottle of Deuchars IPA and it said in big letters and a picture on the back that it was a vegetarian beer.
Does that mean no finings were used? Yet it was a crystal clear beer? Not like Marble beers - always cloudy - at all.
Can anyone clear up this strange occurance for me please.
Ta very much.

The only thing i can see is that they are not using issinglass to clear the beer, but as far as I know, this is too expensive a process.
They coould be filtering it, but again, expensive.
Anyone else got any ideas?
John.

If the beer has dropped bright, then you would be hard pressed to find any animal product in the beer. If it's cloudy, then maybe you might.

I see that the GBBF is getting rid if its 'unusuale' bar this year due to there not being many vegetarian beers around. Shame, veggy beers are a good thing.

Most beers drop bright and leave no fish residue. I dont recommend drinking the last pint in the barrel though. The vegetarian society suggests that you will be alright with filtered beers as well. So good news there.
